Welcome to our Annual Des Plaines Riverbank Cleanup, a dynamic collaboration between Clean Up - Give Back, and Izaak Walton: a dedicated conservation group! This yearly event is more than just a cleanup—it's a collective effort to preserve the Des Plaines River, a vital natural resource that weaves through many communities across Illinois.
The Annual Des Plaines Riverbank Cleanup is your chance to become a river guardian, ensuring the Des Plaines River remains a pristine natural asset for generations to come. Join us in this annual tradition, where every piece of litter removed echoes our commitment to a cleaner, healthier community.
Once the cleanup concludes, gather with fellow participants for a picnic. Food and drinks will all be provided by Clean Up - Give Back and Izaak Walton!
Participating in the Des Plaines Riverbank Cleanup is a direct investment in the environmental well-being of our community. The Des Plaines River sustains diverse wildlife, and your efforts ensure its longevity.
This event is an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for conservation. Join forces with neighbors, friends, and fellow environmental enthusiasts, forging bonds that extend beyond the cleanup.
Bring the whole family! The cleanup is designed to be family-friendly, providing a chance for children to engage with nature and learn the importance of environmental responsibility.
The meeting each year is in June at Izaak Walton League Des Plaines: 1841 S River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60018. Check back in May for the exact details!
